Board of Directors

  • Founder & President

Reba founded Overshadowed Theatrical Productions in 2004. After 25 years in education and church ministry, Reba realized a need for Christian theatre in an entertainment-driven society. Reba desires that everyone enjoys the variety of drama this kind of theatre company can provide. Audiences at Overshadowed can consider the strong family atmosphere seen in Fiddler on the Roof or be moved by the Easter story depicting the passion week of Christ or laugh with Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

It is her sincerest desire that audiences be blessed and entertained by the performances of this theatre company.

Reba earned her degree in Speech Education from Bob Jones University. She resides in Itasca, Illinois, with her husband, and she is blessed with three adult children and two grandchildren.

  • Christy and her husband, Mike, live in Bartlett and have four children. After graduating from the U of I Urbana-Champaign with a degree in civil engineering followed by brief employment, Christy has dedicated much of her life to raising and educating her children at home, with three having graduated so far. In addition to homeschooling, Christy teaches physics and high school math and has served on the boards of two homeschool co-ops. She is also actively involved in her church, Village Church of Bartlett. The whole family has participated in Overshadowed since 2011, whether performing in shows, attending camps, or volunteering behind the scenes, with Christy taking the lead in hair and makeup design for many shows over the years. Christy believes in Overshadowed’s mission to provide family-friendly, high-quality theater and is honored to be part of what God is doing through Overshadowed.

  • Kathy served over 25 years, first as the administrative and then as personal assistant to Pastor James MacDonald at Harvest Bible Chapel. Through her years at Harvest, she witnessed how lives are changed through God’s provision. Kathy reached mid-life before experiencing God’s life-transforming power through her conversion to Christ and realizing that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and the only answer to life’s problems. As a joyful wife, proud mother of two, and grandmother of five, she is honored to be part of the work God is doing through Overshadowed.

  • Charles Hervas is a graduate of Bob Jones University and the DePaul University College of Law and is the managing partner at Hervas, Condon & Bersani in the Chicago suburbs. His law practice concentrates on defending local government and law enforcement officials in civil rights suits in federal and state courts. Charles currently serves as a Village Attorney and previously served for eight years on a local School Board and for 3½ years as an Alderman on the City Council in Des Plaines, Illinois. Charles also is the corporate counsel of North East MultiRegional Training, one of the largest police training organizations in the United States.

  • Michael Larsen lives in Hoffman Estates with his wife, Dawn.  They have two grown children and three grandchildren.  Mike has over 30 years with Canon USA, holding various management positions, all within the technical arena. Mike also happens to be the Technical Director for Overshadowed. He believes Overshadowed offers an excellent avenue for both young and old alike to exercise their God-given talents, entertaining and inspiring people to realize their full potential. His desire is for Overshadowed to continue to show that theater can be done in a high-quality and family-friendly way.

  • Don, his wife, and their two children reside in Inverness, Illinois, after relocating to the Chicago area from Europe in 2006. Don is a partner at Ernst & Young LLP, where he has served clients in the financial services industry for three decades. Don has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and is a CPA. “After experiencing Overshadowed’s incredible productions, I embraced the opportunity to support and serve on the Board. Putting Christian principles into action through the theatre and everything else we do is exactly what we are instructed through Christ’s teaching.”
