It takes many hands to tell a story.
Volunteer needs shift, but the shared work stays much the same: welcoming people, supporting the stage, shaping what audiences see, and helping the story reach the community.

First time volunteering?
You don’t need theatre experience to belong here.
Even if you have never been involved in theatre, there is a place for you at Overshadowed on and off the stage. Different interests and practical skills can all contribute to the work.

Guest Services attire rules apply to Guest Services roles, not every volunteer position.
Guest Services dress code
A polished, practical, welcoming first impression.
These attire guidelines apply to Guest Services volunteers—including ushers, ticketing, and concessions. They do not set the attire for backstage, costume, publicity, or technical service.
Men
Wear black slacks with a white or black polo or button-down shirt. Dress slacks or Docker-style slacks are acceptable; please do not wear denim or cargo pants. Shorts are not acceptable at any time. You may also wear a sweater or jacket.
Ties may be worn and may have color, but please choose a professional style. Shoes should be dark and may be dress shoes or loafers. If you need to wear an athletic-style shoe, please make sure it is also dark.
Women
Wear black slacks (not capris) or a skirt that comes at least to the knee, paired with a white or black top or blouse. Please do not wear denim or cargo pants. Tops may be sleeveless, but the strap portion should not be too narrow. Black knee-length dresses are also acceptable. Shorts are not acceptable at any time.
Shoes should be dark and may be dress shoes or flats. For safety, shoes must have a closed toe and a back strap. If you need to wear an athletic-style shoe, please make sure it is also dark.
Overshadowed Apparel & Name Badges
The current policy allows an OTP production shirt or other OTP apparel for Saturday performances as the exception to the black-or-white top standard.
All Guest Services team members are asked to wear a name badge identifying them as part of the team.
